Jane Skelton

Senior Interior Designer at Gould Turner Group

We as interior designers are purpose driven to use the power of design to create a better environment for patients and the people who care for them. With the delivery of healthcare being dictated by shifting healthcare reforms, the seamless integration of design with the patient experience becomes even more essential to creating a healing environment.

Jane is a Senior Interior Designer providing leadership in the Healthcare Market. She brings 27 years experience in mentorship and team collaboration to her projects. As an EDAC certified interior designer Jane is interested in developing tools to measure the effects decisions made during the design and construction processes have on the built environment. We can build a better patient experience by taking what we learn from each successive project, measuring what we learn and then building on those concepts.

Jane earned her Bachelor of Fine Art from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University where her studio concentration was in sculpture and painting. She began her design career in 1992. In 2008 Jane completed her Horticulture Technical Certificate from Nashville State Community College. Her interest is in creating healing gardens for hospitals – blurring the line between exterior and interior. It is through this exterior/interior link where we can enrich the nature-nurture connection and truly foster a healing environment. We are given the opportunity to create a unique sense of place and we should take our responsibility to heart.
